Guide for Secure and Reliable Transport of Trailers

All State Heavy moves trailers nationwide. We offer shipping of all trailers, including towing services for broken or inoperable trailers. Here are some Precautions and tips for the smooth operation of your trailer shipping.

  • Check and ensure that the trailer light system is working properly, that the brake Lights and all marker lights are working properly, and that you inform us in advance so our mechanical expert can fix it before shipping or use the tow light bar in transportation.
  • Clean your trailer properly.
  • Inform the transporter in advance if there is any mechanical issue.
  • Take pictures of your trailer from different angles; mention details and photos if there is any pre-existing damage.
  • Mention if there is any cosmetic damage, scratches, or dings.
  • Mention all the trailer details and show them to the driver when he arrives for pickup.
  • Make sure your trailer is in good working condition and has no mechanical issues. If it has an issue, contact all state heavy teams so they can fix it before shipping.
  • Ensure that tires are in good condition and working properly. Check them to ensure proper tire inflation and pressure and that there are no bubbles, cracks, or dry rot in the tire rubber.
  • In the case of RV shipping, double-check the interior and ensure all the items are secure.
  • Inspect your trailer for secure and reliable transport. A breakdown or any other issue during transit can be a big problem, so prepare your trailer properly before transportation.
  • Eliminate hubs and wheels.
  • Replace or service wheel bearings.
  • Inspect the brakes and their fluid level. Change the brakes if it’s necessary.

Cost to Ship Trailer

The estimated cost to ship a travel trailer is 3.395$ per mile up to a distance of 100 miles, but it will decrease with every increasing mile. the cost to ship the same trailer for a distance of 1000 miles will be nearly 0.95$. but for the transport of a general trailer, the transportation cost will be more than an RV trailer; it will cost almost 5$ depending on various factors, and the cost to ship a mobile home of different sizes will range between $ 3,500 to 14500$ or more. The cost to ship a trailer across the country varies from company to company and location to location, but some factors can help you to understand how it is calculated. Dimension and weight of trailer, if the trailer width is more than 6.5 feet, it will need an over-width permit. Similarly, if its height is above 13.5 feet it will also need permits that will directly increase the cost of shipping. Size and weight, distance from the origin to the delivery destination, route taken for shipping, and time in year, are the most important factor that determines the cost of shipping.
